The Wake Up Call: Staying On Your Path

Often there are times when you get a wake up call in life.
"I found every single successful person I've ever spoken to had a turning point. The turning point was when they made a clear, specific unequivocal decision that they were not going to live like this anymore; they were going to achieve success. Some people make that decision at 15 and some people make it at 50, and most people never make it all." ~ Brian Tracy
Once you've made this decision that you are going to change I've found that there are certain incidents where you stray away from this decision you once made, however whenever I do I notice I am off track these incidents pull me back. You may not know it or be able to identify it, but it will come into your life during the times you most need it. The funny thing is, you may not know that you need it.
If you have a dream or a purpose in your life and you begin to stray away from your dreams or you plan it incorrectly, sometimes you will experience an event that will get you out of your comfort zone. Perhaps it's an argument, a dirty look someone gave you, some new information, or something someone said that in most cases impacts you negatively. Whenever one of these instances does come up you need to watch for it. At the time you may think it's just a negative occurrence in your life and that it's normal, but the truth is you are supposed to learn something from the situation. I'm not just talking about learning from the experience then knowing how to deal with it the next time it comes around. But what is the real hidden lesson in the message? What's the force or the theory behind these signs?
I don't have a theory why I get these 'wake up calls,' I guess you just have to trust me when I say this since I have no scientific proof or concrete evidence. But there are times when I feel slightly lost and have unanswered questions only to find that the next day something knocks the answers right back at me. Usually it is something that appears form outside of my comfort zone. But now whenever these signs come at me I've learnt to derive the hidden message.
When it happens notice the emotion, learn from the situation then ask yourself, 'what's the message here?' Is there something I am supposed to improve or change in my life? If it's an insult from someone then don't stay angry, bless the incident and whoever gave you the message as they are actually messengers bringing you a hidden gift.
Try to decipher what it is. Take a look at all your fears and purposes in your life and fit them together like a jigsaw… what's the message? Look out for these – perhaps you're going through one now? Did you veer from your true path? Take the time to let the negativity pass, then ask yourself what's this all about? Every time I have had one of these incidents I have taken action and it's taken me to where I am today (which is a good place!).
Have you ever had something like this happen to you? Please share your comments below I'm very interested to hear of them.

  1. i had one of these when i almost got arrested for a DUI :b

  2. I'm not sure if it counts but the first time I became significantly attracted to a woman I realized that my current personality wasn't good enough to get her.

So I began a series of mental changes and habits to hopefully better myself and increase my chances.
